This site is unofficial, unauthorized, and does not purport to represent the views of Oralgiene, Inc., the original makers of the Time Machine Toothbrush, and the 60-second Time Machine Toothbrush.
If you are like me, some years ago, probably while surfing the Internet, you ran across this unique toothbrush, said "Gee, I think I'll try that out", and lo and behold, you discovered that you had found the best toothbrush ever invented by human-kind. You may soon have started hearing from your dental hygenist (as I did) something like:
"Is there something you are doing differently in your home care? I'm not finding anything to clean off your teeth!"You know the story. The fact that this toothbrush brushed all six faces of your teeth (inside and outside along the gums and the surface, on both top and bottom) meant that in a very short number of seconds (and I'm an impatient person) I could actually do a pretty decent job brushing my teeth.
They had an original version of the toothbrush, which uses rechargeable batteries, and which has no 60-second shut off, and a newer version, which is sealed (smart), per-force had to go with regular batteries (OK), and had an automatic 60-second timer after which it shut off the toothbrush. A near-perfect product.
Then came the bomb-shell: they were discontinuing both products. Why? I don't know. The company appears to still be in business, but they simply don't sell these products.
When you look at how this product was marketed (basically on the Internet, and perhaps on "As Seen on TV" type marketing), and the fact that it didn't seem to make it into stores, my suspicion was that they never figured out how to get the story out to the general public effectively, so it just didn't have enough production volume to stay alive in the market. This is just a guess, and I would love to hear from you if you actually know the answer.
I did speak to the company by phone one, and I asked them about this, and they simply said that they were thinking of working on a new version. That was several years ago. I hope they really area!
This blog is a place to share ideas and information about this toothbrush, to share what you like and don't, and to tell the company your thoughts about launching a new version. As I said up front, this is an unauthorized fan site, and I have no connection to the company.
Happy toothbrushing!
I have always wondered why they discontinued this tooth brush. About 5 years ago I purchased 2 cases of them at overstock.com, the page is still there just no product available.
ReplyDeleteI originally purchased the product at Target or Walmart I can not remember which. So it had a brief sales life before they stopped it. I assumed some law suit stopped the company from selling it. Anyway the last of my 12 brushes is starting to break down so I need to replentish my stash. I found a web site that is selling them for 19.95. I assume they are in a warehouse in china somewhere gather dust for the past 10 years and now someone is trying to get rid of them. I am crossing my fingers and waiting for them to be delivered. If the batteries still work I will pass on the websites name to this blog.
I was thinking I was the only one around still using this product.
Where can I find it . My oldest had it and we loved it. Now I want for my youngest and can't find any where

Re: batteries - try this: Go to a Batteries Plus Store with one of the old rechargeable batteries and try to match it. Best of Luck!
